For this project we were asked to visit an art gallery and choose an artist who inspired us. With the chosen artist we were to create a two page magazine spread including a front and back cover. The exercise was to focus on page layout elements such as text hierarchy, character styles, paragraph styles, and negative space.
My chosen artist was Sean Scully, an abstract painter who worked in distinct styles changing every decade or so. I decided to create a magazine that focused on the way certain periods in artists' lives affect their painting style, thus the name Circa. The layout was done in Indesign, all the photo editing, light texture and light adjustments were done in Photoshop.
